i need a new mot in 6 weeks, is it worth taking the car in now to see what needs to be done so i can put money aside if needed. i red that you can still drive your car on the road as long as it has a valid mot even if your car wouldnt pass an mot at any given time, but you cant drive it on the road even if the car has a valid mot if it is deemed unroadworthy. at the minute my car has no horn and no spare wheel or spare wheel carrier i know i need to get these fixed for the mot but if i took the car to the garage for them to check for other things that might need doing would it already be deemed unroadworthy? thanks
pre mot?

#2No spare wheel or carrier doesn't matter. If it's not there it can't be tested.

#3You dont need to have a spare wheel for the MOT, so dont bother with that

Its upto you, by all means take it in for a check up / service, however if you take it in for an early MOT and it fails then you've got no MOT. -
#4Get down to a scrappy for a new horn, piece of cake pal!
Check your bulbs etc but wait until 4 weeks because if it possesses you get 13 months mot. It gives you 12 from when it was due! -
#5As above, get your mot done and if anything fails you get two weeks to sort it out anyway.
