Saxo diesel drinking fuel.

    I have a 1.5d saxo if I goto pumps and fill tank to half way then drive say 10 miles after parking car up and leaving for a few hours when I go back the fuel gauge seems to have dropped to almost a quarter tank. Its doing my head in. Sometimes as im driving it may go back up slightly. Anyone seen this shit before. Help appreciated before I take a hammer to it!

    My vtr fuel gauge has a mind of its own sometimes, usually when im parked facing uphill its lower and when facing downhill its higher. Obviously the fuel in the tank levelling out differently, maybe the same for you I dont know

    First thing I'd do is brim the tank, and reset your odometer.

    Assuming there's no obvious fuel leak you've somehow missed under the car, see how many miles you're getting to the red light coming on, I used to routinely get 500+ to tank on a 1.5d with mixed driving.
