It's a phase 2, silver top, but when I went to buy a oil filter, the guy gave me a filter and it wasn't the rite one, It looked like a oblong air filter, I needed the metal screw in one, which is for the phase 1 engine?
It also has phase 1 interior?
    Very confusing...

Same as me, you have a crossover model, they mixed and matched parts a little bit, however all the engine components would be the same. Sounds like you have a MK2 engine 98BHP, which is a paper filter in the black canister next to the CAT.

Unless of course you have an aftermarket manifold fitted, someone may have done a oil filter relocation and it will be the screw in filter to the block.

How many plugs on the ecu?

    Where is the cat?

If the answer is 1 big plug and under the car, then you have a 90bhp one.

Standard manifold and yes the oil filter is a screw in one. ..

The ecu has one big plug, and Is there much difference in performance between 90 and 98 hp engines?
What was done to give the newer engines more hp? Cheers dude
