What is this?

   Any one have a idea what this is? The gear knob rubs on it going into first and second, when I was installing my amp and putting the wiring under the carpet it seems to be held on by big riviets.

   I would just remove the whole thing and replace it if its screwed in as you'll have nasty holes in.

   Yea only thing is will there then not be big holes in the floor, plug them up? Il jack the car up see if its bolted from the underneath thanks again for the help

   They get riveted to the underside. I remember them being expensive to get fitted.
