Seat recovering

Wasn't sure where this should go, feel free to move it mods

I'm wondering how much does seat recovering cost? I'm picking up some 106 GTI half leathers next week, bench looks good condition but front seats in the middle grey part has one or two holes, is it possible to only recover the middle? Just want them restored, not covered in leather or anything

Alcantara is mega expensive. A trimmers will do it but that plus labour will be a pretty penny.

You know what sort of price figures wise? It's not cheap for a set in good condition now so might be worth it

As Mick has already said it's not cheap, you would be better of paying extra for some in good condition.

You could try giving wassy78 on here a pm,he does re-trimming so would have an idea on prices etc.

The old man had quotes to have his leather seats re-upholstered (just the bolsters) pretty sure he got quotes around £150-200 per seat, that may vary depending on quality of leather but I doubt it would be much cheaper anyway.

Its not massively difficult for you to do it yourself, but you need to be fairly good with sewing and knowing how to make patterns etc.

I had to fix my Leathers I got from Mick, I ended up hand sewing parts together but If you have a industrial sewing machine then it would be easy to do.

Plus its useful to have ring pliers to a. take the leathers off the foam and b. put it all back together again
