Whining noise

   I have a desire 1.1 03 plate! It's had a few problems recently which I've had repaired but currently it has started making a noise which sounds like a fanbelt when driving. I know the gaiter on the passenger side has come lose and is leaking oil. Would this be the likely place or is it more likely to come from the engine.
   
   I don't want to spend money on looking at engine problems if it is just the gaiter.

   If you mean cv boot, if you've let it run dry it'll whine like my mrs.

   Yeah, it has been leaking for a week or so just won't have the money till Thursday to fix it, I'm just hoping it doesn't damage my driveshaft.
   
   But thank and I solve getting over it by turning the music up... Have you tried that with your whining?

   If it's inly been that long it should be fine, repack it with grease clip it up and it should be fine. If it's still there then you need to dig deeper, regardless the boot would need to be done.
