Knocking when turning left at speed.

    Hi guys, first post here!

Got a saxo (no fancy mods, sorry ), however when turning left above 20mph or so there is a knocking, has anyone had similar problems, I'm no car expert so was wondering if you could help?

Wondering also if any of you know a good garage in the Colchester/Suffolk area?

    Thanks a lot

Drive shaft from J&R and have a go yourself using the guides here. Can easily be done with basic tools.

Check for a split cv boot as it might be worth while packing with grease and replacing the boot....

The same happened to mine and the problem was solved.

If you can repair it, it'll only cost a tenner if you do it yourself. Garage would charge an hour. Replace the driveshaft yourself and know for sure it's done and save.

Sometimes works, but depends on how worn the cv joint is.

Thanks for the comments, I was told it could be a drive shaft, as someone with limited experience with cars would it be possible to do my self? I'm pretty good at following instructions and have fixed up some stuff on motorbikes before.

I had this problem, turned out to be the driveshaft needing replacing, if you jack it up and give the drive shaft a wiggle, if it moves that's why it will be knocking.

The simplest thing it could be,, (and believe me, not many people would check this) is, the wheel nuts coming loose.
