noise

   hi
   before I start the car I got like a ummmmm sound, then when I start the car the sound remain permanent, it does not affect the performance, but it is very strange this sound,, it does not sounds normal
   
   Any help will be greatly appreciated

   Fuel pump? Does it come from under the back seats?

   either the fuel pump but that only should be for a sec or 2 or its the air pump in the engine (providing you have the vts with one). neither are on long though

   the car is a 1.5 diesel 2000., to me the sound comes from the alternator.

   I just tried to disconnect the fuse for fuel pump, but still the same noise so it must be something else

   Ahhh. See if you had said it was a diesel in your first post you might have avoided our nonsense answers. No idea what it could be on a diesel.
