Gear box oil drain plug 8mm too big?

   Trying to drain the oil. The guide says 8mm square tip tried it and it's too big. Tried banging it in and it's definitely too big is there a smaller size? It's a 53 vtr

   I remember I had a similar problem years ago and was in a rush, so I just ground it down on a bench grinder

   Yeah my dad has one but he's on holiday at the moment I'll have to order a smaller one
