axle refurb question

   hi all,
   got a decent 1.1 polybushed axle from the scrappies the other day.I'm going to be refurbishing my axle today.have all new bearings and what not for it.
   
   i just have a quick questions.
   
   stub pins are not pitted or damaged in anyway but you can see where the bearings have been.is it ok to give the stub pins a quite clean up with wet and dry.more just to clean and polish it for new bearings or is it best just left and re-greased.

   if there are marks its worn too much, give it a clean and post some pics.

   it's like ghost marks (if you know what i mean???).ha ha.
   
   ok to give it a whack with the wet and dry then bud??

   have a go with some red scotch brite, if that removes the marks after a few rubs then youll be fine, also if you rub your finger over the "cleaned" marks and feel anything other than it being smooth and straight then replace them...

   they are defo flat and smooth.think i just caught it in time though.i'll give that a try in the morning with the scotch brite.
