need advice on buying used axle

   Hi i think my axle is on its way out. I can get one from scrapyard for about 65 quid but want to know if theres any way of telling if its already gone or going. The cars are all up in the air with no wheels on so hard to tell. Is there anything i can measure to help?. Cheers.

   take the arms off and inspect the shafts, I'd knock them down from that price though, I usually get them for £40.
