What wheel bolts are you using? I've been using my vtr bolts for a year but just recently noticed they aren't tightening as once they did and seem to be getting swarf on the thread.

#2a Dwarf on the thread?!
standard flat type wheel bolts will be fine. -
#3Bloody phone! Edited to say swarf
-
#4so its pulling the threads from the hub?
I'd get new hubs.
have you got the standard flat washer bolts or tapered ones? -
#5Flat washer type, looks like the thread just under the washer on the vtr bolts are eating into the actual wheel, hope hubs are ok!
-
#6Correct me if i am wrong but it rings a bell that you need the earlier flat type bolts. The newer type will only let a few mm of thread through into the hub.
At least this is true for 205 wheels. You can get them off 205s / 309s and I assume 306s as well (depending on the alloys fitted) -

and not these

#8Bugger I had a set of the 205 bolts an sold them on! I've already ordered a set of the ones like the lower set out of your pics but they are smooth under the washer instead of having that threaded bit

#9Now ordered 205 bolts too so will send back the ones that don't fit! The 205 ones are stupidly expensive
