My vtr has started making a loud humming/vibrating sound whenever i take my foot off the accelerator. As soon as my foot is back on the pedal the noise goes. sounds like the noise is coming from the drivers side so took the wheel off and didnt see anything out of the ordinary!

#2can you feel the vibration through the gearstick? could be gearbox related

#4O/S engine mount? Driveshaft?

#5My old VTR did this and it turned out to be the catalytic converter, I would lift off the accelerator and it would make an odd rattle sound.. Give the cat a good shake from under the car and listen out to see if it rattles and be sure you do it before you turn the car on as the cat can get hot.

#6Check the wheel for play.

#7worn bearing ?
-
#8my guess is the bearing half way up the drivers side / long drive shaft had a similar problem

my money is on the bearing half way up the drivers side drive shaft
sounds a lot like the problem I have found to be common in my saxo and a couple of mates saxos -
#10Does the noise change when you're in different gears?
