Hi,
I have a starter motor that appears not to be engaging with the flywheel ring gear.
First have had the original starter motor out and tested and the gear is both turning and flying out.
Second have already fitted a new starter motor and that too does not engage with the ring gear.
Have examined the ring gear teeth and they do not appear to show massive wear and nor do the teeth of the starter motor gear.
Has anyone got any ideas??
Please do not ask me to check earth contacts, solenoid operation etc - the starter motor is working correctly it is simply not engaging with the ring gear
