Engine buzz whirring noise on ignition turn

   Hi
   
   Anyone know what this could be. Its a loud buzz heard from by battery in engine and thru the dash when ignition turned on.
   
   Been suggested its the power steer motor???

   Does it make the noise with the engine off?
   Is it only when idling or when driving?
   Check the power steering fluid levels, does it get louder when you turn the wheel? Could be a stick relay in the fuse box under the bonnet, pop open the lid and see if you can work out if any relays are sticking.

   When the bushes were stuck in my PAS pump they made a bit of noise, tap with a hammer and no problem.

   Ok will tell my mech mate as no idea what a felay stick is nor where to hit. But only when battery ign on not eng running

   Open the bonnet while its clicking away and pop the fuse box open to the left of the battery, see if the noise is coming from there.
   A relay is like a small plug in box with moving part inside. It moves about to change the direction of voltage (among other things)
