Shorted. Cut off and replace with new wire of the correct gauge on the loom, and check the alternator to see if it's buggered but it'll probably be ok

get a wire the same thickness, make sure the core is the same. although tbh, being that you asked the question, i'd assume you dont have the tools/knowledge. and being that its burnt once, take it to a garage/auto electrician and get it done well

This tbh. No offence, but it sounds like you're not comfortable with the work needed. Save yourself a bigger problem by having an auto-electrician look over it. Might cost you £60 or something, but could save an engine fire

So i took it to my local mechanic today and he said that its going to need a whole new loom and that t will take like 6/7 hours… so say £45/50 an hour is not going to be worth it… so may just break for parts and scrap it…

Are you having like, a massive laugh?

buy an engine loom from the for sale section here for probably £25. Then fit it yourself. If the loom is from the exact same model and year, even a child could fit it.

find an electrician or a different garage. trouble with mechanics when it comes to electronics they dont know what they are looking at.
