I have a C2 Code and when I bought it, the 'fuse' went for the heated seats and caused them not to work, I had this replaced before i bought the car (From a Citroen Dealer (Abbey Citroen, Redhill))
The drivers heated seat was very hot at the bottom and was intermittent hot on the back but sometimes didn't work, clearly a fault. (Hot like it should be but not fully working). I drove 80 miles back to Redhill to get it seen to as I wasn't going to pay the £80 Citroen in Bedford wanted to 'Diagnose it' after owning the car 3 or so weeks. (All this is warrenty work)
Redhill diagnosed it as one of the heated seat elements were cracked in the drivers seat. This was a specialist part and had to be ordered from Citreon, in France. I booked it in at Bedford to have this work done as its local to me.
Took the car 3 weeks later to Bedford and they took 2 days to replace the heated seat element. They told me it was fully working and obviously didn't charge me (all under warranty) I drive across town with the temperature of the seat to 3/3 and it was only luke warm (like someone had previously been sitting in the seat). I gave it a chance over the weekend with different settings but it didn't get any hotter/ sometimes didn't work.
Rung Bedford Citroen first thing on Monday ( 2 days later) and they assured me it was fully working when they tested it in the workshop (ask for signed job paper work?) and tried to give the excuse that:
The reason the seat got nice and warm was because the pad that was broken was causing a short and consequently getting hot.
I questioned this and said how comes the passengers side work's and it gets nice and hot and would you suspect this is on its way out too??, the possibilities of both seats failing in such a short time would be very slim. why didn't a fuse blow it is was getting hot... faulty thermostat? He couldn't answer and suggested me bringing the car back so the mechanic can have a look.... Not paying though!
So from anyone's experience, can anyone tell me what the possibilities may be before they try and pull the wool over my eyes again!
Thermostat? Element or something else? I refuse to pay £80 for them to put it on a computer when they have messed their work up!
Thanks
Dan
