Lowering further

  1. #1
Hi, I've recently installed a saxo vtr rear axle to my track car and iv lowered it as much as the rear shocks will allow however it still isn't low enough.

For it to be low enough the shocks are completely compressed.

Is there any alternative shocks I can use, or any modifications to can do?

    Cheers

why do you want it that low? it doesnt help with handling and it'll be on the bump stops so will handle utterly shite

It's not "that low" because the axle is not on a saxo its on a rover 100 track car.

With it lowered to a sensible height to suit the car however the shocks have little or no travel left in them.

As i understand it, it doesn't matter how much the torsion bars are adjusted. They still have the same effect.

Is this the black vvc 100?
if they standard shocks then they will bottom out, you can get a set of aftermarket shocks which should be more up to the job. Brand and type depends on your budget but spax, apex, gaz, bilsten, leda etc all do versions varying in price (expensive for the latter)

No its not the black one. I know the one you mean tho.

I have measured up some gaz shocks and they would give me slightly over 1inch of travel on the shock... which isnt ideal, but maybe doable if the shocks are firm.
