engine conversion is it worth it?

    My mates have spent thousands on thier engines modifying and changing them and within months the car has bin f**ked and they have either sold them on or the car has jus died lol

    is it worth getting an engine conversion say from 1.1 to VTS, or would this cause problems in the long run

    only worth it if you're really attached to your car or if you cant afford to buy the faster car outright imo. just save up and buy a vts.

    Im doing and i can afford a vts just i love me little green saxo lol and want to be able to say I did that or helped lol

    would it cause probs in the long run. and wud my insurance then cost the same as owning a VTS or dearer or cheaper

    insurance on a conversion is more expensive. no reason why it should cause any problems, but you'll get less when you come to sell it (as it isnt a vts, only a conversion)

    I'd only bother if your planning on keeping it for a while otherwise just save up and get a vts it'll be a lot easier to sell in the long run.

    yep i agree with selling it may be harder depends who is looking for one

    its up to yourself mate

    I would find it to easy to buy one i quite fancy having a go at it myself


    But each to there own but before i got my car i would of rathered go get a vts but i didnt have the cash at the time

    I only converted by vtr becuase it cost me £1500 and the engine was abit rough.

    I also like messing with cars so it keeps me happy I wouldn't be that keen to rip out a perfectly good engine out of a more expensive saxo though.

    ye i see where ur cummin from..... i would defo think about it. especially with the money i have spent on mine. and money that i will be spending over nex few months. i know it's pointless coz i want sumthing faster alredy n know i'm goin to sell it with nex yr, but cant help it need to keep modding! if i'm really happy with how it turns out when i have finished wot i want to do then i may htink about the conversion maybe to VTR nex yr. but wait til i have 2 yr ncb 1st

    If your doing it mate then go VTS it will save you the hassle of removing the vtr.
