Re-setting ECU on Saxo VTS with Keypad Immobiliser?

  1. #1
    Hi,

had some problems with the running of the engine and been told to re-set the ECU by unplugging battery for 30 mins+ and turn ignition on etc, but i have a 1997 keypad immobiliser Saxo VTS and wondered if i do this will it re-set my keypad to a different code?
And if so what does it re-set to? as i dont wanna do it then find i can't enter the correct code after.

I had a look though search but couldn't find anything specific on this query, does anyone know for sure that the keypad is NOT affected or what the code will be if it does?

    Thanks

    Hi.

No. It wont reset the code to anything different - it will be whatever it is now. However, if you have the engine running and then unplug the cable at the back of the keypad (with the engine still running) you'll never need to plug the keypad back in, and it will never ask you for the pin again. If that's something you want of course.
