04 vauxhall vectra sri squeeking

  1. #1
I've recently purchased a vauxhall vectra sri 2.2, and it's developed a squeeking sound at low speed, it sounds like it's coming from the drivers side front wheel. So initially I thought maybe the brakes were binding, but then I noticed as I push the car up and down it makes a creaking kind of sound but it's not constant. Sometimes it will do it sometimes it won't and it's really irritating.

Does any one have any ideas what it could be?

have a quick look in case there's a broken spring. Had a similar one when you could hear a noise at low speed then it stops beyond 30 mph.

Haha I didn't even notice until I quoted it.

Mine does the same squeaks at low speed and stops over 30mph. But sometimes at low speed the squeeking isn't there. Mite try some wd40 all over the suspention see if that improves it until I can take the car in to be looked at.

The springs seem fine can't see any visable damage to them.

Yeah spray a bit and see what happens. I guess it's just a squeak for now, if your shocks were dead they would thump instead of squeak.

Turned out to be a common problem with the brakes on vauxhalls, since the pads and disc had been changed the backing plate on the rear of the disc was catching on the disc causing the squeek. took wheel off and took 30 seconds to sort! But now I got to find why my suspension is creaking
