Phase 2 106 Rallye drive shafts fit a mk2 vtr?

   Hi all, I've been preping my vtr for it's mot as it's been stood for the last couple of years. After freeing off the brakes I took it for a quick spin around the block when suddenly bang! O/S CV joint is shagged. I was given a pair of drive shafts from a 106 phase 2 Rallye (non abs) I'm wondering if anyone of you gurus know if they are compatible?
   
   The 106 was a 98 plate.
   My vtr is an 03 plate.
   
   Any advice would be appreciated.

   what do the ends of the 106 shafts look like? the cutoff point from flat to tapered was around 1999/2000 so ordinarily no

   What are the hub nuts like on the shafts? Big ones are tapered shafts, small thinner ones are flat shafts
