Rear axle beam

    Hi all i have a question i have a 106 1.1 1997 in the scrappys and i want to take the center beam and put it on to mine. can i do it?

    If you're meaning just use the centre tube and fit your trailing arms, then yes, I believe you can.

    Some lower model early cars had slightly different tubes that didn't have ARB's, so worth checking it isn't that.

    of course you can, be better using it as a base for your gti parts though such as the arbs and torsion bars with new bearings and pins.

    Im pretty sure a 1997 should have arbs fitted?

    I was thinking that, but god knows if that also applies abroad and he's in Iceland.

    I had an early 96 car that didn't have one.

    i think it has will strip the axle and post some pics up here.

    BTW its a 3 stud.

    doesn't matter if it had no arb, crossmember is the same.

    Can confirm the cross members are all the same on drum axles.
