Rust around aerial base area common?

   Looking out for a mk2 for the wife saw one yesterday that was fine but had patches of bubbling around the aerial base area.
   Is this common on the early (2001)mk2 also does this suggest there is an issue in that area with that particular car and should be avoided?

   There's been a single bubble of rust in mine for years, between the aerial base and windscreen, never got worse, think it's just a stone chip on mine, other people's don't have it though!
