My vtr is a 2002 3 plug ecu with the same big engine plug the engine has all gone in fine and the key registers with the ecu and the car turns over but it won't fire it's getting fuel cause that's all you can smell any one got any ideas are the pins on the loom plugs in the same place or do you think I need to move them around cheers pete any help would be great!

to be honest you need some one to splice you a loom who knows what there doing.

moving pins around will probably fry something.

General rule of thumb when doing these conversions is to take the engine from the same year car as your own.

    i.e year 2000 car, year 2000 engine/loom.

Im not sure that the single plug loom will fit a 2002 vtr interior loom. the plugs may fit, but the pin outs may be completely different.

also did you remove the little black box under the passenger side foot well, behind the glove box, because if you dont they can relock the ecu.

p.s re-name your title to vtr to vts conversion problem. (need help is irritating as fuck)

Yeah I removed the black box from under the fuse box and I was unaware I needed the same 3 plug Vts loom I was told aslong as the plug was the same it would work lol

    who told you that?

what you should have done is this

Sourced a 3 plug vts engine/loom and ecu. i.e from a 2002 vts , to fit your 3 plug vtr. would have been less of a ball ache imo.

trying to fit a single plug loom to a 3 plug interior loom i believe needs to be spliced properly.

personally what i would do now is either get the loom spliced, or change the sensors to 3 plug ones on the engine, and buy a 2002 vts 3plug engine loom/ecu

tom5190 has very good knowledge of looms and the conversion in general, id drop him a pm.

Thanks I have the whole Vts spare so I will just swap the interior looms over tomorow CBa to splice or source another engine loom and ecu when I have all I need there already x
