No brakes

Got my timing etc set up, took it out for a spin, press the brake pedal aaaand not much happened! Luckily I was only going about 10mph so just used the handbrake.
The pedal is very hard and when pressed as hard as I can, not much happens and it doesnt really move very far! The handbrake works fine etc so I know the back brakes are ok, would it be just the front calipers have seized as they've not moved in about 2 months? Any way of freeing them off or is it a new caliper I need?

are the discs not just covered in surface rust and need scrubbed off?

I gave them a quick sand with some fine sand paper to get the majority of the rust off, but that wouldn't stop the brake pedal from moving would it?

Sounds like servo failure or as said you have disturbed the pipe to it

It's still plugged in but the plug bit on the servo which the pipe connects too is very loose? I've not idea what it does or how to fix it, any help?

It's ok cheers guys, I didn't know what the servo vacuum did but I had a quick look around it and followed the pipe and found it had come off the bak of the throttle body, put it bak on and I now have brakes!

The brakes would work without it it's just harder. The servo just assists you while braking. Some old cars and racing cars don't have a servo for extra pedal feel. Yo.

Without the vacuum pipe on, I was pressing as hard as I could and yeah they worked but wouldn't say they'd stop anytime soon from above 30 or so
