Hello there,i need some advice as i can't find the fault with the alternator wiring myself.
I tried several methods to see if something would fix it:
-Cleaned and sanded the M8 nut on top of the alternator, didn't solve the issue.
-Cleaned and sprayed some electrical contacts cleaner in the 2 pins black plug on top of the alternator, again, nothing changed.
-I've just moved the battery, all wires are new, correct size and fitted properly but did not affect the battery light in any way (the light was still on even before the battery relocation)
-I've removed the alternator re-fitted it,put a new belt in and properly tighten it,and still nothing.
-Fitted a new battery a month ago, still nothing.
The alternator charges just fine at 13.5/13.8 volts so this makes me think the alternator itself should be in good working order and does not need to be replaced.
If you keep driving the light goes away after a while or,if not,it has a very low intensity so it's difficult to see it.
I've been thinking the issue could be related to the positive wire that goes on top of the alternator with an M8 ring,is this a 16mm2 wire and is it connected to the starter motor?
Many thanks.
