Important! : Saxo Idle issues after overheating

  1. #1
    Hi Guys,

Just after some advice regarding my saxo vtr, it recently overheated whilst on the motorway and blew a hole in the radiator, this was fixed with a new one which all went smoothly.

The problem now is when you start the car the engine will rev up to 5/6000rpm, i was advised to replaced the idle control solenoid, which was replaced with a brand new unit with no joy. Have checked the butterfly and throttle which seems ok.

Could this be sensor related? or anything else that screws up engine idle?

Im really hoping its nothing to do with the ECU

Any help would be greatly appreciated Matt

have you checked the temp sensors? had this issue with a customers car before.

If the ICV has been cleaned with brake cleaner and the throttle spring is not sticking check the above.
