Gearbox/Clutch

    Hi,

    Bought a vtr a couple of days ago, it's got a 16v engine conversion with a vtr gearbox, it's not massivly easy to get in gear (especially 2nd and reverse) and there is a grinding/grating sound when lifting the clutch up after putting it in gear depending on what speed I'm going.

    I'm considering replacing the box, clutch and driveshafts for peace of mind but don't really want to give it a go myself, how much roughly should I be paying to get it all fitted if I bought all of the parts myself?

    It should only cost you as much as it'll cost to have a new clutch fitted. Everything you want to replace has to come off for a clutch swap anyway, most garages want about 4 hours labour.
