#2I know probably not much help but water pumps on saxo's can be a bitch to remove.then factor in a new timing belt kit as well mate.
-
#3Basically it's a timing belt off job so you may as well replace the while lot, belt, pump and tensioner.
Had a receipt which came with my car which said for the full whack £180. Hope it gives you the idea. -
#4i have a receipt from a previous owner that snapped a cam belt and payed like £1200 on getting the engine sorted, but strangely no mention of them changing the water pump.
-
#5as the cam belt was done not long ago, do i just need the water pump?
-
#6If belt is recent then you can re-use it but for the cost of a belt you may aswell replace it. Total job time for water pump and belt replacement is around 2 hours.
-
#7I have purchased the water pump myself, got a quote from a garage £150+ vat to fit it does that sound reasonable?
-
#8If I was you I would replace belt even if it wasnt done that long ago for the sake of a couple of quid you dont want to deal with snapped cambelt and id say if you supplied water pump it be anywhere from 100-150 but depends on garage labour rate
-
#9Yeah and I'd also do the tensioner if that wasn't done at same time the belt was last done.
Also of you're getting the tensioner, get a belt and tensioner in one kit together. -
#10If the tensioners are recent just reuse those with a new belt
