OBDII Software

    Hi all,

Very quick question. I have procured an OBDII to USB diagnostic tool. No idea what I'm doing as I have just found out what the thing does and something of such wonder existed.

So, what software (free) do I download?

Engine management light is on you see.

firstly you would need to buy an OBDII compliant vehicle

secondly, read the instructions for your tool.

Shit, thought a 2003 saxo VTR is OBD2 compliant?

If I had instructions, I wouldn't posting this thread. Literally been handed over a diagnostic tool.

My cheap OBD2 scanner and my Bluetooth OBD2 Scanner both work on my 2001 VTR. So your 2003 VTR should be fine.

I personally use the Torque app on my phone. Cant help with the PC software but thought I would confirm it should work.

I downloaded easyOBDII which worked. Now I know what the code is. I'm going to create another thread to see if anyone knows what the issue is.

EDIT: No need, I think I know what the issue is.

Either the lambda sensor on the CAT end has gone, or my CAT has seen better days.

Anyone know what I can use? It's the older type connection not obd2. The lexia cable changes it to normal obd port but that normally comes with a full kit with a diagnostics box that links to laptop. I just bought the cable.

You need the lexia box lead & software, then it plugs into your laptop.

But I can't use any other obd scanner stuff now it's converted to the obd port with that cable?
