VTS starts, stalls, starts, stalls ffs...HELP!

  1. #1
    2002 VTS.
As soon as I start it it stalls.
Start it again, runs for 1 second, stalls again.
Start it again and rev it, it then runs with me holding revs at 2k. If I let off it stalls. As it warms it gets better until it sits idling fine.
If I rev it the revs drop to 500ish and car 50% of the time stalls.
Misfires randomly, not greatly, but it runs like shite tbh

    CODE P0170

    So..
    Changed..
    Coilpack x3
    ICV x2
    MAP sensor x2
    Crank/ flywheel sensor x2
    TPS x2
    Both temp sensors x3
    Double checked timing
Dismantled inlet manifold, cleaned it and rebuilt with new seals not losing oil or water
    Changed front O2 sensor
Swapped around front and back O2 sensors to see if problem 'moved' - it didn't.
Set of 4 new Bosch plugs

Ran great for years and now this.
    Anything I'm missing?

That code is related to fuel trim also some of the following can be a really random code given this but maybe the cause one or some of.

    Intake air leaks
    - Faulty front heated oxygen sensor
    - Ignition misfiring
    - Faulty fuel injectors
    - Exhaust gas leaks
    - Incorrect fuel pressure
    - Lack of fuel
    - Faulty Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor
    - Incorrect Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) hose connection

    Tech notes
Dirty air filter, air filter housing or Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor, or faulty MAF sensor are common causes for the P0170 code.

Looking more on here for you and other places seems that it is fuel trim malfunction.

    Hope it helps

Pretty much done all of that. Injectors were refurbed and cleaned about 12 months ago. There is definitely fuel there.
Fuel filter on way and will be fitted when it arrives.
    No MAF on a VTS.
Standard air box, clean K&N panel inside it.
Standard exhaust, MOT'd 2 months ago so no leaks, etc.

    Bttt..

Fixed. ICV that worked fine previously was seized in an extended position. Causing a good warm idle and a dire cold idle - something similar to an air leak as technically there is/ was one. New ICV and car runs beautifully again.
