Desire 1.1 CLutch Pedal

   Hello,
   
   My clutch pedal on my saxo feels like its rubbing on something it doesnt come up and down smooth it sort of notches when bringing it up slowly, my dad has been driving the car and says the gears change fine but the clutch is a bit stiff and notchy, i am having the car serviced on thursday but i was just wondering what this could be ive tried WD40 on the clutch pedal & spring with no change.
   
   Please help if possible

   probs the cable got crap in it or is breaking down. will probs snap at some point

   thanks for the reply i have read other posts on various forums and they all come back to the cable hopefully it is just the cable as i only bought the car 3 weeks ago and dont want to have to spend on a new clutch.
