Engine misfire

  1. #1
Just fitted the ford coilpack HT lead conversion thingy, got it wired up rough just so I could check what's what.
The engine is now only firing on 2 and 3, when I unplug the leads to 1 and 4 it makes no difference to how the engine runs (ie still only on 2 cylinders) but there is definitely a spark coming from both the leads as you can hold it to the block and they spark away.
Absolutely no problems before with the fuel end, car was running fine just before taking the old coilpack off.
So fuel, and all 4 are sparking...yet only 2 cylinders?

    Did you splice loom?
Can you put the old coilpack on to see if all 4 work again?

just had the wire in connectors so that i could troubleshoot and check conneections before soldering them into place. yeah am going to whip the standard back on today to check, just cant understand why it wont fire if all 4 spark and there were no fuel issues before!

Might sound silly but have you wired them up correctly and got the right lead on the right plug. #1 Gearbox end.

yeah it was wired up right, and ive put the standard coilpack back on and now its still misfiring

plugs are all fine changed them when i changed coilpack after melting it on track a few months back
