2 days ago my saxo diesel 2003 would not start.
Jump started it and it was fine.
After turning it off it would not start again.
There is a buzzing noise from the glow plug control module so i change it but the same problem buzzing noise car wont start.
A funny smell sometimes from the car but its not alot.
I have checked all the fuses they seem fine.
dash lights flicker but when the headlights are turned on the dash lights dont flicker anymore.
Petrol indicator needle does not move most of the time.

I have tried a new battery no luck same problem.
    Jump starting it works.
Once the car started its perfect.
The starter motor does not engage most of the time.

I think there is a bad contact some where.

Any help would be gratefully received.

Check the earth staps there are 2 on the gearbox 1 on the chassis by the battery also check the posative conections and cables the terminals on the cablees can crack from being over tightened.

Solved it was the battery, wasted money on changing the glow plug module i think?
Even though the volt meter was reading 12.6v when tested on idle but i think the test i missed was the stress test on the battery i.e when you the turn the key to start the engine.

    Thanks oxass for helping.

Diesels do take alot more from the battery to start the car due to the higher compression ratio. Glad you got it sorted

Just a tip that's where a higher ampage battery can get you out of trouble.
