rear axle possible problem

Hi guys, joined the site as car is going for its mot next week and im worried about the rear axle. I read online they are a common week pount of the car and a good way to tell if its on its way out is to stand back from the car from the rear and if the rear wheels look in at the top of the wheels ( look closer to the inner arch) i did this check and the driver side looked out but passenger was fine. I took the hub caps off and put a spirit level over both sides, passenger is spot on as suspected but driver side is around 6-8mm in at the top... Checked for movement by jacking car up and cant feel any movement... Anyone know if this is the axle going? Mot fail? I hope not as plan is after it gets through mot to do some more work on suspension wheels etc as its a reliable boy, if it helps its the 1.5 deisel.

    Thanks to anyone who replies

The radius arm would have to have what the tester deems as excessive play to fail the mot.
