8v or 16v

Right seen as though I've got money coming in consistanly, it's time to do something decent with the saxos engine.
I was thinking get a 16v, rebuild in garage then stick it in but a lot of people seem to have a lot of love for the8v and I've seen more turbo 8v than 16v.
I would possibly be wanting to turbo with low boost sometime in the future, but would an 8v be easier to turbo or no difference? Be on standard internals!
    Hmm decisions!

8 valve would be the cheapest depends how much money you want to spend.

    I've just rebuilt a 16v, cost a few quid.

    I had to buy:

    Belt Kit / Pump
    Sump Bolt
    Manifold Studs
    Sump plug
    Oil
    Oil filter
    Clutch
    Clutch cable
    Gear Box Oil Seal
    Air Filter
    Stretch Bolts
    Head Gasket
    Gearbox oil
    JP4 covers
    Cam Seals
    Alt Belt
    Spark Plugs
    Manifold Gasket
    Cam cover bolts
    Stem Seals

Then on top I needed a manifold and other things.

I made some cash back breaking the donor but it's still a fair bit!

Ask yourself what you want in your car. Power or handling...if you want a fast car go 16v. If you want a fun handling car and a bit more power. 106 Rallye engine....If you want turbo. May as well build a 16v version while your car is running, then swap over...

I want bit more power now, so I think I've reached my limit with 8v before turboing or spending big money.
So thinking get a 16v, get some head work done and cam it and that'll give me some more power for now and then a turbo might be on the cards later. I could then keep my 8v I take out I suppose and build that for a turbo?
Turbo isn't definite but I'd like too at some point!
