oil pump????

   A mate of mine has a 106 gti with a jp4 engine in. Started getting a rattling from around timing belt so I have replaced full belt rollers and water pump... still the same sounds to me it around the bottom pully and sounds like a chain?? Anyone ever had chain on oil pump do this?

   The chain and sprockets can wear which can causes the chain to stick to the sprockets i have a photo of some worn pump sprokets i will try and upload it.

   So got sump off the other night.. only thing I could find was the chain seemed to be very slack so got new chain and oil pump on way..
