Hey guys, well after buying them coilovers of eBay n them knocking like mad, I just want some advice, obviously looking to lower the car really low so arch is just above the wheel, what would be the best way of doing it? Springs or coilovers? Don't want to spend a fortune though. How low can you go without other modifications?
Suspension??

#6Thanks for calling. There are numerous problems with these cheap coilover kits so its hard to say what the issue is without examining the car. From new these kits are really only good for show cars that want to go low at the expense of a good handling car.
Dampers are soft and so are the springs. These go coilbound if wound too low.
I would fit the Apex full suspension kit out of personal choice. These are bloody good for the money and get the car low without being excessive. Really for 50mm lowering you need shortened dampers as with standard length you will sit on or very close to the bumpstops.
If wanting to run just lowering springs and standard dampers then the Apex 25mm lowering springs will work and give you some damper movement. If you've got a bit more cash then the Eibach Pro-kit will give a better ride and will lower 20-25mm on the VTR and VTS
If you want coilovers then the minimum quality I would fit is the GAZ GHA
