Nearside wheel play!

  1. #1
I recently noticed play in my wheel and decided it was the bearing, so I fitted a new one, but there is still play. I did a VTR conversion but never put the VTR driveshafts in, and I read somewhere that it would cause play if I had the wrong ones. Does anyone know if the VTR driveshafts fit a Saxo x gearbox? Also, both inner gators need replacing but I don't know how to get the metal cup off, is there any guide on here? It's getting annoying now! Lol.

    Thanks.

You need the right bearing to match your hub and the right shaft to match your hub.

you probably have the wrong combination.

The metal cup is part of the inner gaitor the cup is crimped to the shaft.
Vt driveshafts will fit the gearbox but you will need the bracket for the iner bearing.

Find if you have tapered or none tapered shafts

This & without the right combo you'll eat the bearing in no time.

What bracket do you mean? Yeah, I've been told that before Stevo, it's a job job it's been sitting up! Is it worth changing the boots or just buying new one driveshafts? The ones I have are in bad condition anyway.

It's a cast alloy bracket that bolts to the back of the engine block to support the intermediate bearing on the offside driveshaft.

Will this one fit? I asked the seller but he said it only fits VTRs.

What year is your engine and what is the engine code?
It looks like nft,nfz and the blacktop drive shaft brackets are different.
