    Oh that's the nominal precipitation rectifier. Rarely work anymore, they're useless too. I'd get rid.

    Oh it rectifies the precipitation when it reaches its nominal operating point. More important in Europe with their regulations, luckily here in the UK it's just a bit of clutter in the car that isn't needed. It's only zinc oxide in a rubber alloy container.

    It's a fresh air pump, when you first start the car it pumps fresh air into the exhaust port behind the valves to burn excess fuel faster. this heats the cat up to improve cold start emissions.
