Hazard switch taken out indicators?

   while taking my dash out my hazard button broke (the circuit board part inside the button) and as a result I now have no indicators,they don't even make a clicking sound, just dead. is this normal for the indicators to not work without the hazard switch connected? or would it be something else causing this? is annoying as I cant drive the car with no indicators, have ordered a new switch from ebay but its a twat who is really slow and hasn't shipped it yet! cheers

   Not thought of a mate giving a lift to a scrappy? 5mins later said switch in pocket.

   you would think scrappys would have plenty of saxos, but have only managed to find one that's had a saxo and someone had already beaten me to the hazard switch by the time I got there lol!
