Whole car or engine rattle at 1000 revs

    For the last 6 weeks my 51 vtr shakes wen at 1000 revs. Not a problem whilst driving but is noticeable whilst pulling off. Issue more noticeable inside the car and if I Rev the car as it comes back to idle the steering wheel keys in ignition and interior all shake. Doesn't seem to make a difference if I accelerate slightly from idle or if the revs are coming back down but is always at 1000 revs. Seems to be slightly higher about 1200 wen in a higher gear.It has this problem whether in motion or parked. When the car is cold it is more noticeable but I am assuming it would be because the idle idle is higher and closer to the 1000 revs.


    I have change my exhaust from the manifold all the way through as I was finding slight leaks and issues and hoping that this would resolve it but it has not. There are now no leaks or rattles with the exhaust. All parts standard.

    I have checked the air box and flow pipes and found no issues with these. All parts standard. With the air filter system removed issue is still present so I am eliminating that aswell.

    I thought it could also be engine mounts and not to sure how to check all these but from wat I can see they seem to be firm but allow movement wen forced .

    I am persistent to find the cause of this ussue as I know it will put buyers off wen it come to the time to sell even if this time is not soon. It is also very frustrating not knowing the cause to the problem.

    Any help or tips to help find the cause or solve the problem would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance Doug

    It's worth it with the engine mounts to check the condition of the rubber ie that they're not cracked or perished.

    Can the rubbers be replaced or would I need a complete new mount ?? It seems to come from that area so I am thinking of replacing that mount next

    Top and bottom gearbox mounts i believe you can buy polybushed inserts ,not sure about the mount by the ecu though.
