Today I was driving my Saxo on a lovely road in nice weather which was great, with the exception of the fact I had nothing to listen to as my stereo decided that it didn't want to play my CD or in fact any of my CD's, which meant I had nothing else to listen to than the lovely, slightly tappety TU engine. Not to forget the sound of the sunroof blind flexing and vibrating amongst some other annoying squeaks and rattles. This got me thinking, so I thought I'd put some of the more trivial things I have experienced with my Saxo(s) and see if you people have had the same experiences (probably).
My Saxo squeaks and rattles even on the smoothest of roads. I understand they aren't the best built vehicles in history (no offence), but I've had two and they both have or do drive me nuts! Previously been a Citroen mechanic I have gathered a few problem areas that seem to be the most common. These are as follows; the sunroof blind, the headlining in general, high level brake light cover, boot trim and door cards all though my current one just seems to be the sunroof blind which is noisy! This is more a query than a problem, it would however be interesting to get a bit of feedback from some of you who have either solved these or have any more to add to the list! (I am aware that removing the whole interior furnishings does solve this lol!)
Back to the CD player has anyone ever had the standard CD player in, fitted on the MK2's. Because mine refuses to play most CD's and spits them out, doesn't matter wether it's hot or cold, been on for 1 minute or an hour and it doesn't depend on what CD it is either as sometimes it will play one next time round it won't! I have 2 standard sets and both do the same thing!
Also a very trivial problem but one that is annoying, after so much use the door handle protrudes the door more than it should and it won't budge from that position! It looks like you've left the door handle slightly open, does anyone know how to solve this or had the same thing?
One last thing! The fog lights go foggy and swirly on the inside which in my dad's words looks s**t. The only remedy is to buy a new set, but I still don't understand why they do this. The only thing I can think is the combination of water ingress and heat?
