Alternator help

   Battery light is on constantly but car rus fine but all lights go dim and when you Rev the engine the lights go back to full brightness any help appreciated.

   First off check the alternator connection for breaks or corrosion.i suspect though that the alternator is slowly dying.halfrauds do a free test.

   I can't take it anywhere it's off the road I only bought it yesterday lol trying to decide weather just to break it or not but it's got lots of test

   Start it up, get a multimeter on the battery and see how many volts it's kicking out. Anything under 14v and its either the battery not holding charge or the alternators gone.

   If it's pushing out above 14v it also points to a knackered alternator.

   also do the test with all the electrics on heater rear window lights every thing and it should still put out over 13.5v
