Do you have wideband installed? (such as innovate lc1)?

What is the spec of the engine?

Not at the moment, just running standard lambda sensors, I will be getting wideband, I just need a basemap so I can get it mot'd and on the road, I have the software and team viewer ready, but Andy keeps letting me down

    Edit:

    Mk2 vtr engine
    1.9mm h/g
    gt17 turbo
    329 saab injectors
    4 bar fpr

you need to map it properly before MOT and using it on the road.

Someone on here had a similar setup (blackie?!) - he might be able to give you one of his old map files to help you out.

You'll need a wideband to get your base map setup ASAP on the laptop so you can then drive for proper mapping.

Could just trailer it to mapper?

    You want something like this:

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/INNOVATE-D...item1c371e071e

Do your research on reliability etc. but I used one of these fine for a good while. If you're getting a mapper to map it then probably won't need one urgently.

Get a quote online for transporting your car to the mapper.

What's the benefits of the wideband. I'm building a turbo 106 over here in Ireland. No one over ere will map a standard ecu like Wayne in chipwizards does.

Wideband with a gauge shows you the air fuel ratio so you know it's running right.

Mappers target certain air fuel ratios at different loads, so the wideband aids this.

I like having it with s gauge in my car so I can keep an eye on the ratio as if it goes wildly out then I know there's a problem and can act accordingly.
