Exhaust manifold hits oil filter - 106 GTI engine

  1. #1
Hi all - just been fitting my tubular manifold to my 106 16v conversion - the manifold hits the oil filter and will not go on - Ive heard that the Renault 5 GT oil filter can be fitted and is slim enough to avoid the manifold - is this true with the 16v engines as well as the 8v's? On the plus side, the engine runs nicely!

    Any help appreciated

Yeah lol, was only £40 though. Can I remove the oil cooler sandwich plate to move the filter back? What is involved in doing this?

Just fitted that filter today, all sorted My mate who has helped me do the conversion (who has owned many 106's) says he's never seen a manifold like it so its either really rare and good or really crap

    Most likely the latter lol

A 4-1 with super short primaries is never going to be amazing for performance. Still - it was only £40..
