Is my idle f*ked ?

    ---NOT RELIGIOUSLY---

But frequently, (appears to be when the car is cold and not properly warmed, though lately even whilst the car is warm I'm having the problem.) my car in neutral is sat below 1k revs... And feels like it's struggling and wanting to stall ... Every day I get in it after a nights rest it requires a big rev to start and get it in neutral. Or I can feel just from turning it over it will stall if I don't. Then if I do a short trip from starting it on new day , leave it for an hour or less and get back in it , it struggles even more. It's at the point where I'm needing to have my foot slightly on the accelerator to keep the revs up (whilst it's having the problem). If it's done a long distance like the motorway it's fine though. I'm no mechanic, anyone know the problem?

--it was sat on my drive essentially undriven for a year. But I've been driving it again for more than a month now and the problem has seemingly developed. Don't think I had this problem first driving it after year again.

    PLEASE HELP

Temp sensor would just affect my fan and heat monitor tho lol wouldn't be causing it to want to stall in idle or struggle surely

You ask for advice and then question the advice I am giving you.

The temperature sensor tries to compensate for something as it is one of the factors that affects the way the car idles. Take it from someone who has experienced the problem.

So I've no right to question a response only thread lol I'm not challenging just saying. Because I've also experienced temp sensor problem in past and it didn't affect anything other than setting my fan off after running the car for 5 mins lol

You have all the right you want, however you seem to have dismissed my advice (bearing in mind I have had the same problem you currently experience) even though you don't know the potential problem, hence asking fro advice.

Do what you want, I won't be dishing out anymore help to someone who doesn't appreciate it.

Two types of temperature sensor one gives the temperature gauge it's reading, the other is an injection calculus sensor which sends signals to the ecu.if the latter one is goosed then the fueling will not be correct causing the problems you descibed.

Thanks (for explaining a valid enough point rather than biting)

If the green one is the temp, what are the blue and the brown ones?

    /sorry for the offtopic

Brown unused, blue is for the gauge.

Wtf! Why its there if its unused ???
  19. #19
It's because it is used on Saxos with air conditioning...

wd40 the throttle cable and cable housing, I've had a few saxos have the same issue due to sticky cable.

All cars have spare plugs, cuts down on the cost ie one loom suits several cars the unused plugs are tucked away.
