Help! wiring wideband lamba wires?

  1. #1
I need some help identifying the wires on my lamba plug please,

I have identified the white one as live with the multimeter, then I have a red one, a green and yellowish coloured one (these two are coiled together) are they the earths? cheers.

Been a long time since I've looked, but two are for the heater element, and two are for the actual measurement. Sorry I can't help further.

I actually found an old thread you posted in years ago, and you stated the red was the signal wire for the ecu, so white must be live, and that only leaves the other 2 for earths surely?

Well I tried wiring it up but no joy I'm not getting any power to the wideband, god I hate wires

I'm surprised white was positive - a quick look on http://www.lambdasensor.com/main/mcolours1.htm

shows white as negative. Of course, I could have been wrong previously but if it's an old post, I probably remembered it better then!

Ok I have power to my wideband now! doing as it says and have the check light flashing red indicating my lambda sensor isn't plugged in

U'll have to excuses my knowledge, I'm useless with wires lol! the white one read 12v when I put it on the multimeter so i'm guessing it's correct :s

Just done the calibrating and it did exactly what it was supposed to do, so I've surely done it right then?

You didn't mention you were fitting a wideband

Aren't wideband sensors 5 wires? Now you've blown my mind...

yep, and they don't get wired into the original ecu...

This one has 4 wires one live one earth and 2 for afr gauges/standalone ecus etc, i'm also running a predator ecu
