power loss

    hi, i was in first gear floored it picked up nice to about 3.5k revs then just maintained the same speed while the revs were still going up?

    Physically impossible for road speed to stay static while revs increase in gear.

    Unless you're riding the clutch or have a clutch problem.

    recently i have noticed when im pulling away from a stand still its jerky, does that fall in line with a clutch problem?

    Yes that could be a clutch problem.

    With the handbrake/brakes on, gently engage the clutch. if it shudders it probably needs replaced.

    Does the clutch slip in any other gears?

    no first i noticed was earlier when i floored it in 1st gear and half way up the rev counter the car wasnt gaining speed but the revs were still going up.

    Well, based on what you've said that sounds like the clutch is slipping.

    I'd check the clutch cable first, incase it simply needs adjusting.
